Macau Engrish

My favorite sign on my Hong Kong/Macau journey was at Fernando's in Macau. After quite a bit of wine and sangria, I headed to the bathroom. I went back for my camera to take this photo of the sign on the back of the door.


Apparently incoherent people are common in the bathroom in Macau. Makes sense.

And a quick shot that I've posted on Facebook already of Mia in the pouring rain with the sunset behind her. Typical Okinawa summer. The sunsets are killer once again - but a little more rain would make them even better!

A Sunset Shot To Tide You Over

Some great shots from the last swimming day of session II to come... for now, can you even believe this sunset? We sure are lucky.

Hello Again!

Recently we went to the Seaside Inn, the restaurant at Kadena Marina, for one of the dinners during my birthday weekend. The food was good. The view was even better. And wow did that sunset cooperate....


Then we arrived home and indulged in the cake that Sena made for me - it was red velvet, and trust me when I tell you that these are the only shots of it because we gobbled it up so fast there were just some reddish brown crumbs left soon afterward. YUM.


This past Friday, I was lucky enough to go shoot this lovely lady again....
along with 4 other talented and fun to be around photogs and 2 other models besides R (pictured above). It was a great day!

Soon I'll have some shots on flickr (more Dragon Boat shots, model shots, sunset shots). Now we're off to do other mother's day type things I guess. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, Mommies!

More Sea Wall

Ok - I know. Busy week, ok? These are from Friday late afternoon. SO many more to post from the really fun weekend we've had. Here's Mia with her pink Christmas present.

Sunset Friday night.
Down here so many people have air fresheners on their cars. It's so nice, they all are so scent-conscious. But even little old ladies and people you figure have no idea what these are have this air freshener hanging from the rear view. Whoa, what I want to know is, are you kind?

The kid is addicted to this small camera. Mostly she takes video with running commentary and then watches it and laughs her butt off. I would've done the same as a kid, imagine having this instead of a cassette tape recorder?!

Here's the face she made while we were trying to get her to smile by saying, "Do you miss your boyfriend, Logan?"

It'll Never Get Old

I peeked outside when I caught a glimpse of the light at sunset this evening through our kitchen window. We'd had an early dinner, so I grabbed the 17-55 lens and ran downstairs and out to the sea wall.

If I could only decorate my walls here.... sigh.... the prints would be everywhere!

It had been raining throughout the late afternoon. It cleared just at sunset time, but there was another storm to the north of us on its way down. Lightning flashed on the purple-black part of the sky and it faded into the sunset hues on the clearer part. But the clear part was still host to some storm clouds leftover. The weather can make for some very cool lighting out there. Hope you enjoy these. Nothing can convey the beauty of light, but these are pretty close to what I saw tonight. They're all pretty good size pictures here, if you want to click on them to check them out closer. A few are grainy due to low light, but I still think they're pretty good.

This one was looking toward the south. Those towers toward the middle right are by Camp Kinser. I rested the camera close to the sea wall in the foreground, but not on it - it was really wet.

This one pointed directly toward the setting sun. You can see the rain falling in the distance from one of the clouds, and the breaks between them too.

This is looking back at our street from the sea wall. Almost looks like a different night with all that blue sky. It wasn't really that dark right over us, otherwise I wouldn't have risked the camera being out in the rain. You can see the reflection of the sunset on the windows on the left. Our building is the beach one behind it.

And this really shows the storm heading down. The sun had gone down a little more by the time I shot this, but that storm was brewing and there was lightning and thunder coming from it - so I didn't stay out much longer.


And I shot this from the street behind the sea wall, just looking up. I couldn't get enough of the colors and the clouds!
On the way back, I shot this at the vending machine by the dive shop next door. I like this picture.
